Default Thanks Doug B...but the o-rings are not right which I chalk up to my Polock measuring skills...

I'm gonna ask my local rocket scientist to measure 'em properly. That said, what are good sources for o-rings. I know the usual suspects (Grainger and Mcmaster Carr) but are there any others. I indicated 9.1x1 mm which is what Doug sent me. What is in the controller is far thinner. More like .5 mm.

Anyhoo...Sources?

Mark

P.S. Sorry for the trouble Doug.
P.P.S. Nothing burning here yet.

Metric rubber rings? Get a box at Harbor Freight or hardware store. +/- $15: set of all sizes.

Default Well I dunno...I have yet to find 0.5mm cross section rings. Doubt they would be in a "kit".

Perhaps I have not looked in the right places. There is nothing Harbor freight has that Grainger or McMaster does not have WRT o-rings. That said, I just received my Grainger catalog. It's as thick as a phone book but a lot mor fun :-)

Default I took a quick glance at the Parker o-ring book and.....

didn't immediately see anything with a cross section that small. If Parker doesn't have it, it will be very hard to find. If you want to send me one of the o-rings I can see if I can match it.

http://www.parker.com/literature/ORD%205700%20Parker_O-Ring_Handbook.pdf</a

I wonder if the 0.5mm is according to specs or is measured from a used (compressed) ring.

Default That would be a great deal of compression and in this application - flimsy plastic armature...

just not possible given the pressure exerted. I tried the 1mm I speced and Doug sent but I cannot even get the armature to close. Check out my pic poster for some snaps of the assembly. Tozo I believe has some he took of the controller I sent to him.

Mpollan,
you might want to try "MSC Industrial supply's" website. They have a pretty good selection of metric O rings.
