Is there a code when the fuel pump or relay goes?

engine was running normal, then just stopped running. the engine cranks over great but doesn't start whatsoever. vag at first came up as 18020 ecm incorrect, cleared the code and cranked engine but it still did not start. there are now no codes.

There were no codes when my pump died, just would not start.

Check to see if the fuse for the fuel pump is OK.

I had a similar experience about two months ago. It turns out that the fuel pump drawn too much amps, and blew the fuse. Eventually, I had to replace the fuel pump.
