Default Too good to be true?

A 99 A8 loaded with xenons, for $15000, have notchecked it out yet but it has 79k on odometer. Sounds like it could be a good deal. Skeptical though, makes me think something is up with the car. What you think?

Hey,

It sounds waaaay too cheap. Is it for sale from a private
person, Audi dealer, other dealer, or used car lot?

Can you get records? If not, and you are interested in the
car, I would take it to someone for a checkup.

Maybe you have found a great deal. I will keep my fingers
crossed for you.

Its private owner and at that price it has to be checked up one side and down the other. Maybe I've found something.

Default Conceivable, but low, may be someone that needs the money.

The mileage, IMHO, is high for a '99 relative to other 99's I've seen.

As a sanity check, there is a '98 in Chicagoland with ~69K miles at a dealer and the price is at the 20-21 grand mark. My guess is that this thing wholesale was at the mid to high teens ??? I'm going to check it out this weekend to get an idea of the offer I should make on my leased 98 when the lease comes up.

Probably a mislist, bait and switch or wrecked vehicle. I came across these every day for two years, lot of losers out there trying to bring people in.

there is a high mileage 97 listed on autotrader in Georgia listed for 15,500. My 97 was purchased about two years ago for 24k. It's was and still is Cherry!!!Some timers you got check it out with your own eyes. Got Laptop? got Vag-com? Great tool to use for A-8 shopping. All recordered on computer since birth in Germany. Any codes blown will be there, you just need the "key" to unlock that data.

What's typical cost at dealer for timing belt, etc. I usually would use an independent for most of my work.

ross-tech.com, what state are you in, I bet you can get someone to check it out for you with a vag for free.
