FOLLOW UP: I left them a voicemail after-hours ...
... to clue them in about pump cavitation. I have to say that I should have thought of that earlier; it's just that the noise is so mechanically metallic that I ruled it out, out of hand. But I suppose it could very well be.
Anyway, I told them to reverse flush the system on their machine, then pull the pan and inspect/replace the filter.
We'll see how that goes.

Yours sounds worse - mine's only 'somewhat' audible and not all the time. And the...
...herkyjerky shuffle is def. only first thing on cold a.m.'s and only in Tip.
Think I'll think about a fluid change - I've been strongly opposed prior but now guess not.
Chenishead - dunno on that cold start whir, could be crusty air pump maybe? Pulling out of me **** on that one.
And say, WTF's your screen name mean anyway? It's been killing me since you sub'd long ago. I only come up with one possibility that I'm not typing to someone I've not met! 8-) How 'bout a name - I HATE SCREEN NAMES!!!

Sitting around with friends, watching the game, dealing with extreme frustration over my losing team, weird unheard of words come out. That one kinda stuck. I nearly peed myself laughing when my friend called someone a futtbucker. Go figure, we have a stupid sense of humor.
