Default TRANSMISSION HELP

Recently I got an S8 with the 5hp-24. I was supposed to have the trans done by this weekend. Anyways, I didn't install the torque converter to the third click and it sheared the pump tooth, so now the pump is broken. How do I pull just the pump out? I can use the one from the old transmission.

Remove the the torque converter, remove the front differential and tube (the front axle tube goes through the pump housing and must be removed), remove the bolts (8?) that hold the pump housing to the transmission (two of these bolts are behind the front axle tube, remove the black rubber plugs to access these). The pump housing can then be pulled out, but is very tight. I used a bearing splitter to grab onto the housing then a gear puller on the splitter to pull the pump free.

What part of the housing did you grab onto with the bearing splitter?

The shaft that sticks out from the pump, just behind the splines.
