Transmission in Limp Mode

Re: How much were you able to get for yours on ebay?
6700$... exactly 19 months ago. It was a jackpot for me but the car was pristine with low miles. In the last 12 months A8 have depreciated greatly.

Re: Sell it to someone as a project car then get a 2000+
John,
Erickson is about 45 mins from me and I've had them in mind if my wife's tranny goes. I "assumed" that since they were a ZF distributor a rebuild would be good as new.
Who's the recommended place in the CT area?
Bob

lets just say, more than it cost...
car ran $8k (flood title - but its completely clean and has never shown any evidence of flood related issues...just typical A8 issues...see below):
Repairs (ones that i can remember):
in chasing my "vibration at 2k rpm and rough idle" problem:
- plugs
- 2 Power Output Stages
- ECU
- Driveshaft (under warranty - which was a used part...the boot is ripped again on it!)
- front motor mount
- 2 rear hydrostatic motor mounts
- tranny flush & fill
- Timing Belt & water pump (also included a bunch of hours of diagnosis, but fixed all the issues)
Other repairs:
- 1 TRE
- 1 Upper straight control arm
- 1 window switch
- FULL transmission rebuild
I have no idea what the prices were on everything but i think its close to $10K invested...yeah i got screwed and sadly, as the wife says, its paid for and running fine now so no need to take on more debt with a new car *cough S8*...
