Transmission swap?
Hi guys,
I may have access to a low mileage 2002 transmission from a 4.2Q, I'm thinking of installing this and the TC into my 1997 4.2Q which has a transmission that hunts a bit (both euro spec) Is it a sraight swap, plug and play type deal, or will there be any electrical connection issues etc?? All advice greatly appreciated

oh wow, thats amazing... I dont think i'd be able to do it myself though unfortunatly, i'm
mechanicly inclined, but don't know enough or have the expereince unfortunatly. if it took you 120 hours.. that would be $7,200 at 60 an hour for a mechanic, ugh.

You need to have access to a machine shop, because parts are not available.

Re: It took me like 120 hours and less than $2000.
Have you thought about doing a write up and manufacturing the parts needed for this to sell?, I for one would pay good money for the parts to finish this conversion and there must be others!!
