I'm limiting my search to the 850 CSi's and later 850 Ci, and I figure I would have to stiffen up the Ci suspension to my liking.

In general, I think we are on the same page on our opinions, I don't thing the early 850's and the 840 provide any benefit relative to our A8's. Even the 91 - 93 850's six speeds are somewhat lacking in both power and torque relative to modern offerings.

But I love the styling, and the CSi has been a desire of mine for going on 10 years :-).
