Default VAG Tool for fun and relaxation

Dumped DSP mode in tranny (oh yeah, thats better)
Fiddled with the key settings.

97 A8 64,000 miles (last 34,000 in past 14 months)

Has anyone with a 97 done anything unusual or stumbled across any settings that bump performance more than transmission tweaks?

Unfortunately, no I haven't. The tranny recode is the best "free" upgrade I know of.

Default Drove it a bit this evening

As mentioned in earlier posts city driving is greatly enhanced, jumps off the line, smooth shifts in town. I did notice that highway driving between 60 - 70 keeps rpm around the 1,800 - 2,000 range which is pretty high for commuting / cruising. I am hoping that above 75 it will shift into final drive so decent mileage wont completely go away.

I may tinker with the codes to keep the "sport mode in the city while allowing lower rpms a cruising speeds on the highway.

I'll post any results that I come up with.
