Valcona - what is it any why do I want it
I have been reading the specs for the 2000 A8, where it is noted that "Valcona" leather is now standard. What is the difference between Valcona and "normal" leather - is Valcona an option on other Audi models?
Any info on this would be appreciated
Thanks,
Greg

It's probably a brand name like Connolly leather ...
The leather on other Audi models also has a name. I remember the A4 2.8 had something called Cognac leather a couple of years back. Valcona is probably a more premium grade of leather compared to the leather used on A4 and A6 models.
There is only one type of leather offered on A4 2.8 and A6 models, whatever the name is. There is no separate option of Valcona leather for these models.

Valcona is a specific grain of leather that is optional on European A8s and standard on the S8. The graining in Valcona is very fina compared to the other leather offered on the A8, Natur. Valcona is offered in eight colors while Natur only two.
