Default Vent Removal

I have something rubbing under the front of my dash. It sounds like styrofoam on styrofoam rubbing. Is it possible to remove the center vent on top of the dash? I'd like to shine some light in there to see if I could see anything.

Thanks for any input.

I may have had the same noise; for me it was a creaking type of sound. A solution that worked for me was to wedge a length of fuel hose between the dash and the windshield. I'll take a picture later to show you what I did - a simple fix for an annoying noise.

Thanks for reply. I'd love to see a photo or two. I planned on driving to Minneapolis in a month-or-so and the noise is so annoying that it's causing me to second guess taking the D2.
