Hello everybody. I bought myself a -97 a8 with 4.2 v8 (220 kW) fz 5hp 24 transmission with 330 000km. After driving it home about 600km total. Next Day i went for a drive worked fine until i stopped at a stop sign and the transmission went into limp mode. After that i had a oil change and a flush done to the tranny. oil was a little dirty and the oil pan was covered in this oil sludge. After that i Have done the basic troubleshoot. Changed the breaklight switch cause i was getting a code for that, took my tcm also out it was fine, f125 switch seemed to work fine, speedsensor worked, all of the solenoids seemed to work. now when i try to check codes before i move the car no codes. after i but it in to d gear and try to move it clucks and throws limp mode at me. After i delete the code and try again to move it doesn't go into limp mode but now i have break switch code it only uses 3-5th gears. when reversing at any point it does not activate limp mode. and also clutch worked fine when i drove it. should i just try a diffrent tranny or could it be some electrical issue. sorry for my messy writing and thanks in advance.

When I had the brake switch code I needed to adjust my brake switch, it was working OK for the brake lights but intermittent for the other poles, which control TC lockup, cruise control, etc.
Bad news to ignore it as it can wear out the TC Clutch.
