what is the filter in the center of the engine compartment?
The 2 charcoal/pollen filters are on either side of the hood, but what is the filter in the center of the hood? Is it a replaceable item? ALSO: in tiptronic mode N54321 is illuminated. In regular Drive mode only PRN5432 with no 1 in sequence. I just noticed this as I am using tip almost all the time. Normal or is my power of observation slipping?

That's not really a filter. It look like one because of the foam around the edge. It's the...
fresh air intake for the cabin. The blower is underneath what looks like the filter.

You're correct sir! Just checked and the N is not there. But all this time the 1 hasn't been there in normal D either! You look at something so often and you'd think I'd remember. Getting old is not what its cracked up to be!
