Default Re: What mods are recommended for an S8?

- H&R coil-over suspension
- lightweight brake rotors with more powerful calipers and higher performance brake pads
- K&N free-flowing air filter
- free-flowing exhaust
- change transmission shift program to european mode, from north american mode
- lighter weight wheels with agressive tires for summer and snows for winter
- no one here really believes in chipping the a/s8 .. too little return for the cost.

Default click "preferences" right above the Posting tool.

Use the VAG/COM software from Rosstech to communicate with your Audi and change it's settings.

Default My list....

....if I got a S8, not necessarily in order:

1. H&R Suspension

2. Nav Plus (you would never regret this)

3. A set of winter/summer wheels/tires

4. A set of track brake pads for when you track in once or twice a year

5. A Phatnoise if your music has been converted to MP3

6. XM radio in the ash tray with external antenna

7. A sweet switching device to switch between XM and the Phatnoise

8. Tinted windows

That should keep you busy for a few months...!!!!

Default My list....

Done:

1. Very rigid Alcon TA-6 front calipers

2. Braided ss brake lines front and rear

3. Larger but lighter 2-piece rotors front and rear

4. High friction pads front and rear

5. "<A HREF="https://forums.audiworld.com/a8/msgs/39669.phtml">The Block</a>" to reduce master cylinder movement

6. Strong light wheels and max performance summer tires. If I had it to do over, it'd be HRE 546 18x9 ET39 wheels with 265/40-18 tires, either BFG KD or Pirelli Asimmetrico

To do:

7. Upgraded exhaust

8. Transmission cooler

9. Work with <A HREF="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/17157/grattan_t3exit.jpg">Stasis</a> to develop A8/S8 suspension

Default My short list! (I don't own one... yet.)

1. Add a Nav Plus
2. Install rear CD changer.
3. Lightly tinted glass.
4. Brake upgrade - 'mebby' paint calipers red first! :-)
5. Compass in rear view mirror.
6. De-badge the Rings front and rear. Custom made grill.
7. Fabricate new clear plastic "lower grill" enclosure for fog lights/driving lights.
8. Add an S8 badge to each side. Near side marker light or after rear side window pillar.
9. Set of slip on front seat covers for when I'm feeling dirty! LOL
10. Rubber winter floor mats.
11. Paint the lower valences and bumpers body color.
12. "Pie Plates" winter wheels/tires.

Default Re: S8 tranny shift program

Is there a Euro mode? I though all S8's were the same.

Ah you caught me there, RY. I was only assuming, and we all know what benny hill has to say about that.
