What parts are best to scavenge from a 1997 A8 4.2 wreck?
I may have a lead on a 1997 A8 4.2 that was wrecked some time ago. Here is what I know: Front end crash, one of the black engine covers is broken, wheels gone, most of front end body is gone (or bent), glass apparently good, exposed to elements (pulleys & parts have significant rust).
I so WISH it had been a '98+ with Tip so that I could take the shifter, but it was confirmed as non-Tip.
If I can get at it, is there anything in particular that I should try to scavenge?

I'm on the lookout for a rear bumper cover for a 2000......not sure if they are the same though.

Re: Splash guard? Do you mean something akin to a "mud flap" or ???
Plastic in wheelwell I would guess. We have just one cover below the engine, and the snap plugs always disappear with bad mechanics hehe

several questions before I tell you...
- do you have to pay for the parts?
- how many miles were on the car before the wreck?
- how accessible is the underside? (I knew a guy who always dropped his wrecks upside down in his u-pull lot, made it easier to get at transmissions...)
If you were my dad, you'd gut the thing and stack all the parts in your barn.
