Default What's involved in fixing the shift lock/ignition problem ?

Hello again,
Im not even sure what the common terminology is for the mechanism.
Shift inhibitor? Safety parking switch? Shift Lock switch?

Anyway, im guessing that there is a solenoid somewhere that disengages a pin in the shift plate when it gets power from the brake pedal?

Well i have to wiggle my shifter with my foot on the brake for the ignition to work.

Ive searched quite a bit on this forum but cant seem to see anything.

Any data greatly appreciated.

Stoosh

It's a cable between the shifter and the ignition switch. there is a recall in the US for this problem. Call your local dealer you might have the same recall.
