Where is the leak detection pump 97 A8 4.2
I have a 1997 A8 4.2. I cannot find where the leak detection pump is in the car. I am getting a fault code and cannot for the life of me find the component. I want to do the resistance test (as the Bently states) but can't find it.

Tried there couldn't find it - Anyone have pictures???
I looked in the left (drivers) rear wheel liner. Anyone have an idea how big this thing is, I am guessing about the same size as a deck of cards or so. I would love a picture of this.

It's about the size of a softball if memory serves...
That was one of the first things to go on our 1st C5 Avant. It was definitely where Neil says, you pretty much need to take 80% of the wheel liner out working from the rear, as it sits in a pocket back in there. Sorry, no picture. Don't be surprised if you've got to replace it.
