Where's the Beef?!
So, I've had my 2001 A8L for just shy of a year now, and I've always thought I should have quicker throttle response and more acceleration (mostly with the transmission in automatic). Up until today today, I kinda just had myself resigned to the fact that I had what I had.
I ran out to do some errands and decided to forego wearing shoes. As I felt around on the floorboard with my toes (for no particular reason), I can across what seemed like a little button underneath the gas pedal. Now, I had always read in the manual that to get all the engine power to kick in, press the gas until it clicks, but I never really figured out what that meant.
It turns out, when you push the gas to the stop, then push a little harder, the car comes alive! Holy smokes, it's fun (and a good way to ruin my nearly 20 mpg city driving)!!!
