Wiper Blades for 99? Icons don't fit?
I'm in need of new wiper blades. I've always bought just the inserts before but was thinking of springing for something better suited for ski season. I've decided to get some Bosch Icons but I don't see any listed for my car. I think my wiper blades are 22 inches so I wonder why a standard pair of Icons won't fit (according to the Bosch website - http://bit.ly/h7ZAcL ---- ) Are the blades different lengths perhaps? (it's dark and cold and I'm not going outside now to check)

Ended up getting the Icons against the advice of my locate parts outfit. He said they dry out too soon here in CO so we'll see. I like the fact that they one piece and supposedly won't freeze up like conventional wipers.

Speaking of dried out blades...I've made mine last longer with this stuff I originally bought as an oil additive for an older VW that used a lot of oil through the valve stem seals (as far as I could tell)...cut down the oil loss to about a quarter of what it was. Can get it in aerosol spray, too.
Anyway, it's actually a rubber plasticizer (part of regular rubber manufacturing) that replaces what rubber loses with age...does very little to brand new rubber, but softens and slightly swells old rubber back to it's original size, without weakening it. I smear it on wiper blades as soon as they start getting hard or streaking and it brings em back to soft and wiping like new...let it soak in before puttin the blade against the glass. Haven't replaced a blade in a couple of years.
Had a rubber seal on a tail light that leaked rainwater into my trunk...dried up dense foam rubber. Soaked it in this stuff, swelled/softened the rubber...leak stopped.
Brings back old o-rings, too. I put on suspension parts, ball joint boots and on all my window moldings instead of armor-all.
No affiliation...just amazed at how well it works

I love ICON
I put them on my 2nd previous Audi and have been using them on every Audi since. It snows here in Michigan and they work great. After replacing the thin Bosch originals on a 92 100S with ICONS years ago, I couldn't believe how good they worked. This was the best wipe I've ever experienced since I drank a gallon of stuff in preparation for a colonoscopy.
