Hello all..I've been quiet for some time here, I guess I didn't have much to say, I fixed all of my problems with the '97, so I've just been enjoying the usual banter from all of you....

I have finally bought a digital camera, and I will be able to take pics of the 2001 S8 I am waiting to be delivered to me!!!!! I just finalized the deal today, and it is being shipped via covered truck to me.

I can't wait. The car has 19,475 miles on it and it is beautiful....basically brand new. Silver exterior with black leather, and the doors have the alcantara trim (am i correct in saying that? its the suedelike material)

I will post pics as soon as I get it and figure it out...I may need some help in doing so though.....

all of them have that on the doors. For the S8 the alcantara package is for the middle of each four seats as well as roof and rear hat shelf. Had that in my 99 A8 it was great. Now its the mesh black roof which is nice and a sporty touch. Congrats on the car not to many things you can do for it. Chips, exhaust and intake filter.

One of these days I'm going to drive a S8....want to see what it feels like with that 60 extra HP.

...I need you to come here and recode my tranny on this one too!!! Maybe I'll break down and just buy a VAG so I can actually be more obsessed with my car than I am now!!

I got a great deal....after prowling autotrader for the last 3 months for the S8, I was looking for a Silver with black interior 2001, and second choice was black on black, but i love the silver....so lo and behold LATE one evening I came across mine...I was the first to call the dealer in the morning on it and got the process started....I ran the VIN and pulled the Service History and all is clean....I had the dealer take multiple pics and forward them to me, and I bought the car....the car was posted with the incorrect price, and when I called the dealer he freaked out when I said what the price was listed for...it was mis-posted as 42995 or 43995 (i cant remember now) a great deal...we finally agreed upon basically 50000 which includes tax and shipping etc...purchase price was 46000.

So.....the car will be shipped on Monday, and I will have it on X-Mas Eve morning! sweet....

what is the 01 S8 tranny code anyway? let me know....i will search the forum anyway as it seems to come up every two weeks or so!! lol

Sweet! You'll find that your S8 has agressive tranny software already. I think it will hold first gear without recoding it.

You need to come out and play in April with us at Grattan which is right near Grand Rapids....you would have so much fun!
