WTF!!! Fast Idle and CEL!?!

WTF!!! Fast Idle and CEL!?!
Okay, I just dropped $3,200.00 on an engine refresh including new coils, plugs, gaskets, seals, timing belt, the works; and tonight after a spirited drive from the office - at 5000RPM for a few seconds - I now have a fast idle and CEL on. This happened long after my quick overtake maneuver and while stopped at a red light. Any ideas before I VAG-COM the crap out of this thing and trade it on an Acura or MB?
By the way it too cold and dark out to do a VAG-COM now and besides, I'm tired and sleepy too. TIA

Re: Pull the codes
Pulled the codes and again Idle Air Reached Lower Learned New Value, and Idle Air Reached Upper Limit Learned New Value. Whacked it with a wrench and idle dropped back to normal. Cleaned out the Idle air valve it was full of muck!
