Xenon bulb replacement
The xenons on my '00 A8 aren't very awe inspiring, especially compared to the xenons on the '03 A4 next door. Why are the xenons on that A4 three times brighter than mine? Do xenon bulbs die slowly, resulting in poorer performance over time?

Yes, they do diminish over time.
Science of light:
Two of the same bulbs will be ¼ brighter than a single. So three times brighter is hopefully a guesstimate.
Try out the A4 bulbs in your A8
