2004 A8 battery drain

So did instrument cluster fix the problem? I have exact same problem.
When I remove number 5 fuse, the car goes to sleep mode.
When remove the IC, the car sleeps again.
When remove the connector of CAN gateway the car goes to sleep again.

Same problem here!
Hello.
Best wishes from other side of the world, Lithuania. Same problems with car not sleeping. Removing fuse #5 solves problem, car goes to sleep in 20seconds. Will try to locate instrument cluster can bus wires and try to disconnect them to see if it will help.
IC is working with no problems.
Car is A8 D3 2003. MMI SW updated. Battery new, coding done to reset all stats.

Hi Geduax from other side of the world mine was defiantly a short in the cluster car would sleep then you would hear a click temperature gauge would flicker up for a second and car would then try to sleep again only to start the process over.
Fuse 5 stopped it from draining but could not drive without it.
Just reading my old post I did take multiple systems off line and still carried on which pointed to a fault in cluster which it was as we have never had another problem with it since.
If you have access to ross tech or scans would be quite happy to compare it to our original scans to see if anything shows common other than that all the best to the other side of the world cheers

Some updates.
1. tried to take fuse 5. Car goes to sleep in 15 s. and consumes 0.03A from battery.
2. With fuse 5 in, never goes to sleep and consumes 7Amps.
3. Find out that can't connect to both seat memory ecus. Passenger totally unresponsive, but drivers side had responded some times. Disconnected passenger seat ecu. Bam! can connect to drivers side ecu. Car goes to sleep in 15 s. with fuse #5 in place.
Had some success with sleep mode. Now car goes to sleep every time i lock it.
But. Sometimes i manage to get 0.03A drain, but usually it is 0.9A or 1.2A with car sleeping.... Need more advises
