Default 2008 A8 DRL light front light replacement

My 2008 Audi A8 has a burnt out DRL on the right front headlight. How how is it to replace the bulb. Does a dealer have to do this and if so what can I expect the bill to be for the labor.

It looks like a tough job. While the car was under certified Audi warranty they had replaced the front right headlight bulb. I think I still have some warranty left on the program. Is this covered? if so for what time frame.

Thanks,

If you are mechanically inclined, you can do it yourself. Search as there are several threads here.

I assume this is the link you were talking about https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho....php?t=2788968 dealing with changing the DRL to an LED. I just want to replace with a basic DRL light bulb. Where can I find the bulb number?

I did call the dealer and he said the cost would run about $200.00 so I am going to have to deal with it myself as it looks very basic in replacing based on the link above.

$200 to change a DRL bulb? You should find yourself a new dealership to go to.

Anyways, the bulb is a standard 194 type bulb. Can be found anywhere that has an auto parts department.

Default The whole task took 15 mins of time

Had the Mechanic at my Truck shop replace the bulb in about 15 mins of time. He used the pictures from the link above. No problems. He said the heat from the old bulb made it stick to the socket but he removed it and cleaned up the socket.

You said its not a DRL? Its on when the car is driving in Daylight. So its not a parking light but a DRL.

If you turn on your parking lights it will be on when engine is off. Also if you leave on one of turning signals that side will stay on. It is too low light intensity for any DRL.

It could be 21w DRL. There are many versions of the A8 D3 light. 2006 were 21W DRL before it changed to 5 LEDs the same as the W12 which laready had LEDs.

In my ETKA for 2006, North American and European versions, it is 5W parking light bulb. On my 2005 too. Actually a would be happy to have that kind of DRL. It would save HID's.

Hello, I am having the same issue. I can get to the parking bulb, but it just turns and I can pull it out. Do you know what he used to get it unstuck?
