So, spent the long weekend in Palm Beach this weekend. As a treat to myself, I rented an A6. When I arrived, they had none, so they gave me an A8L for the same price. The car had 5 miles on it, so I was the first! The ONLY disappointment was that someone swiped the dvd rom for the nav, so no comments on NAV.

Anyway, I have to say that this is truly one refined car. I left thinking that despite not having kids and being in the my early 30's, I could handle a car like this! Who needs an SUV!
The car had the convienence package, rear passenge aircon controls and sat radio.

What really struck me was the thought, where do you go from here? I have had similar long-term experiences with the sclass and the 7 series, and I am just left wondering, what else do I really need. I must confess, if I bought a A8L, I would get the solar roof option (car gets hot in the sun) and the little mini fridge (why not!). So, its a $90k car, starting price for a new sclass.

I really like the pickup, for an all wheel drive car. The 4 matic on an sclass, is not so great. I also really like the Sport setting, firming up the suspension and the longer shift points.

Go for it! I've owned every benz they make and the a8l is fantastic! My last car before this was the s class, I had more problems with that car
than you can imagine, because I leased from a friend of mine, he told MB of my history with them and one of the repairs they picked up a $5,000 bill! The fit, the ride as you know, and the comfort in an a8l can't be beat. It is probably the most under rated luxury car on the road today.
