Default A8 Headroom Compared to A4

I have an a 99 A4 1.8 that is past it's prime and i'm thinking a 05-07 A8 would be a good option for me.

From the specs though it seems like they don't provide any more headroom. Have not sat in one yet as there are none for sale around here.

Any tall guys have info here..

At 6' I guess I don't really qualify as tall, but you'd have to be a lot taller than I to feel cramped in an A8.

Default I'm 6'4" and I have no problem in a 2008 A8. The headroom issue was a big one for me in shopping for

a car last year. The net of it is, although in the published numbers there may be slightly more room in other cars (namely the BMW 5 series, Infinitis, Merc s550) from a feature and value standpoint the A8 wins hands down. I never really even tried the BMW 7 series or Lexus LS 460 because I wanted all wheel drive. Lexus legroom is far worse than the A8.

There's definitely less headroom in all of the "full-sized" models of all manufacturers than there ought to be. The only place to go for good headroom is a tall SUV e.g. Range Rover, or LR2.

The one thing I can say where A8's far surpass all others is in legroom and how far back the seat will go which helps quite a bit.

I found a seat position that works very well for me in the A8. The bottom line is, if you want a sedan, it's a sacrifice you have to decide whether you want to make.

Default I am 6' 4" also and I am fine in my 04 A8. Even when I put the sit high up

I am fine. You just have to watch your head getting in. I usually keep the sit midway. If you around the my height you should be fine.

Default I'm 6'3"+ and I fit just fine

I like to sit low, so I put the seat all the way down, but I could raise it several inches and still be comfortable with the clearance.

I'll try to check one out today. Are the 05s the same as the 09s for headroom.

I'm sure I will never find one without a sunroof! I just hate those things.

We've got clients as tall as seven feet in A8's. I think you'll be ok.
