Default A8/S? wheels question

I've been told that 17" S4 avus wheels and 04 18" S4 avus wheels will both fit a 2000 A8.
Anyone know if this is true? How silly would 17" Avus wheels look on an 00 A8?

Anybody else out there tried anything like this?

Default A) You're in the wrong forum, and B1) I don't think so, the offsets are wrong.

Not sure about B2) (B6 S4 Avus wheels), as I don't know the offset on that wheel. I doubt it. The D2 A8 has a bit of an odd offset, compared to most other Audis.

Default A pic of what rims I am talkin about

here is a link to the rims that I was talkin about...apparently they come on the D3 not the D2. Anyone have a set for sale or trade for a set of S4 rims? I know that they are 18x8.5 et45 - same offset as the S4 rims (although they are 17x7.5). I just was wondering if anyone as ever tried the swap before. I know its more an S4(B5) forum question but the wheels are D3 rims. Any help would be great. thanks
