Default Alzheimer's A8L

Just picked up a 2004 A8L to fit in with my TT and A6 stable (collect all 12!)

I'm having an interesting issue with it, and I hope someone has some insight... It has Alzheimer's. For instance, I'll get in, start it up, and input a navigation destination and a few FM presets. I drive halfway to my destination, then pull over for an iced coffee or something, and shut the car off. When I get back in and start it back up, it's lost all the presets, and is trying to go to a destination in Manhattan -- always the same address. Also, it shows "Loading top destinations..." and never shows them, and if I had entered a name for a CD in the changer, it's lost too.

I've tried resetting the car back to factory settings, different keys, everything, and this always happens. Other settings, such as treble, bass, lights, and the parking assist volumes are retained, so it's not every setting that disappears, but it's obviously highly annoying. I'm thinking about driving to that address in Manhattan just to see what's there. Maybe it's a pot of gold or something.

Any ideas, or am I off to see the dealer?

Yeah, that's all I can figure. It's worth a shot. BTW, we apparently have identical cars.

I should note that STFA came up with nothing relevant.

Default Take to dealership, have latest MMI update and all Recalls done.

Its amazing how many 04's and 05's haven't had any of the updates or recalls done to them.
