Any way to disable adaptive light warning?
I know it's been mentioned before that perhaps pulling their fuse, but does anyone have experience getting rid of the adaptive headlight warning besides replacing/repairing the headlight?
I did try pulling the fuses indicated in the panel, but the warning and alert still pops up whenever the car is started.

1. The control module. Can DIY with some difficulty. Cost 1K at dealer, about $345 OEM NEW. They are known to fail due to water intrusion.
Power module for cornering light for 2008 Audi S8. #4F0941329D
2. The Sealed headlight. The curve motor and sensor are in the sealed beam and can not be replaced individually. Very costly at dealer, like $2K, used 500-600 and will require removal of front bumper cover. Not cheap or easy.
3. The connector. There is a 14 pin connector at the lower back of the headlight (B!tch to get at!). Interestingly, it's a male connector with female tines inside that loosen up over time (known issue). Disconnect and use a pick to gently pry them back together. This worked for me and $0! Alternately, the entire connector costs $15, but will need special tools-skill to replace or soldering skills. I found the info about this on ROSS, about the Passat which uses much of the same tech as AUDI, and certainly the same connector:

Unfortunately, there is no way to disable the warning. I fought this for a long time on my passenger side. There are three things that can go wrong:

Symptoms?
Great post. Can you or anyone else on this thread tell me what symptoms they experienced to help diagnose the problem? I have the warning message flashing constantly, but don't know where to start. The lights are all on as normal when stationary and I haven't driven at night for a while to notice anything unusual with the adaptive pointing.

I also started getting the defective message on my 2007 A8. Mine appears to be the driver's headlight cornering motor. Up/down tests work, but motor won't swivel side to side when I run test in VCDS. I'm not looking forward to dealing with that bumper or possibly ordering a new $1100 light but in my case, as I understand it from some of the other threads, the motor itself isn't replaceable, although some of the parts diagrams online appear to show the motor part# in the part diagrams.
Hopefully your fix is a less expensive solution.

I've posted regarding this before, but on a MY 2004 that does not corner, only adjusts with the suspension height. When I had the error it only occurred when it was damp or had rained. It turned out I did not properly close the access cover after replacing the Xenon lamp. Once it dried our in a few days, all was well until it rained again.
I used a hair dryer to dry the interior our and then properly closed the cover and all has been well since. Net cost was my time.
