Default anyone replaced compressor w/$200-300 variety?

I am wondering if your outcome has been good or bad over several years time ? I need to replace mine and I am wondering if the extra $1000 for an OES WABCO makes any sense.

FWIW, Here is the link to Meissler's D3 Ebay page in Germany where I bought my pump in 2013. IIRC there was another option to buy the same pump except I'd have to change over some connectors; I went with the one that had the proper connectors. Maybe there is a cross reference to Phaeton or Bentley/RR for your W12...
Also, don't let the distance dissuade ya; mine came in about three days! I can't tell if shipping is included but the prices include VAT, which we do not pay, so that ~20% should cover shipping.

I bought a no-name pump for very little money after a shop locally was closing. I think it would have been $45 brand new and delivered in the end.

It arrived with the correct connectors, and brackets, just not the rubber bushes and springs for the mounting. I swapped these over and it has been in the car working for 8 months or so.

I have kept my factory pump as well just to make sure but I have had zero issues. For the money, I don't care if I have to buy one more frequently.

Thats great info Tom. I should have known there would be a German made aftermarket pump given the size of their market. My pump...including shipping and shock mount kit...would be $420 ! They sell WABCO OES for $715 shipped; thats $400 cheaper than US sellers and half of Audi price.

Unfortunately I saw your post yesterday afternoon, and yesterday morning I ordered a Chinese compressor which cost me $330 with shipping and mounting kit. But heres some good info for anyone wanting not to spend $420 on a pump... I ordered the pump from a place in FL called Rebuild Master Tech which, as the name implies, rebuilds suspension piecec including pumps. They only sell new Chinese pumps for Audi, but I figured since they re-build pumps they would know a better variety of Chinese pump from crappy Chinese pumps. And its a ffamily owned business so I could talk to the owner and learned that they have used the same pump supplier for 7 years; so they have seen the dependability over time over time....evry body else selling Chinese pumpsis a large online store that has no clue about the product.

So, as Chinese pumps go, I feel more confident than I would otherwise. But for only $90 more I would have gone with the German made aftermarket if I had known.
