Default Atf operating temperature?

Hello, I'm thinking about doing a trans flush and replacing filter and gaskets. But since I have no dipstick how will I know when i put enough fluid back in? I read somewhere I need either the vag com scanner or and infrared thermeomete. But what's the correct operating temperature? I appreciate any replied , thanks in advance!

40C. Also stamped on pan IIRC. ZF says check at 40C, but no more than 50C. I used a range of 40C and not let it get above 45C by time I had it level and was closing the fill port. You do it running so fluid is heating slowly as you work.

Find the procedure before doing it. It has been posted on a good number of times before, and can also be found in general with ZF's documentation for the six speed tranny.
