After doing some research on this board and others it appears to me that the surround sound (DSP BOSE) TSB is only in effect for 2006 models. There are other issues (Like the Sirius Satalite issue) for which an upgrade to the MMI is also the solution.

Here is my question, will the DSP issue and thus MMI update, apply to my newly purchased 2004 A8L? (Have not recieved it yet) And if not, is the Sirius issue something that happens in EVERY situation with sirius? Or just unique situations?

I would be willing to purchase Sirius JUST to get the the MMI update (It sounds like it has many many many fixes to pre existing problems and annoyances)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. The car has 49,200 mile on it so this fix will only be covered under warranty for a short time. Thanks everyone.

After continued research I haven't found anyone who got this fix that does not have an 06.

Does anyone happen to know if I can just pay Audi to update the MMI? I would be happy to after hearing about the numerous updates and how much smoother and faster the whole system runs.
