Do you put change in your ashtray? I did but not any more. Spent several hours trying to figure out why my car would not go into park. This is hopefully the last in a string of issues. Turns out the problem was a bunch of change that got between the ashtray lid and down into "no man's land". From there, it migrated under the shift mechanism. All told, I got more than $2. bucks of coins. I was able to get it by taking the woodgrain cover off the console and the top cover with PRDNS in the aluminum. Even at that I used a shop vac to get the coins from where I could not see them.

I wonder if there is something to put along the edge of the ashtray to prevent coins from falling down.

Hell no. I put it in the console under the arm rests.

I put so many little things in the ash tray but no coins, lucky me.
