Companion to "Outrageous" post on Northern California forum
It was time to re-register my 2005 A8, but when one of the little nuts affixed to the trunk panel that held on the license plate failed, I went to the my nearest Audi dealer for a repair. I mean, that's where you go when you have a problem with a $75,000+ car, right?
Their verdict: Two hours of labor (at $140 per hour) plus 8.25% California sales tax. Lemme see: that's $303.10. Price of each of the other clearly visible pot metal nuts: 75 cents. Hmmm...
My suggestion that this repair should be covered under warranty was pooh-poohed, albeit, they were very nice and kept their manners and their cool, even when I didn't quite.

"Audis PR continues to stink IMO."
This is why you need the new Lexus LS600h or LS600h L, both with standard AWD, and not that awful piece of junk Aston Martin whatever as your next car. Come on greenie, you know you want this Lexus model.

Tim, I just watched a video on the new LS460 and first impressions(mine)
from a design standpoint are thumbs down! Ill have to see it in person but, to me, the rear has too much Toyota carryover. The dash is interesting but uninspiring. Unfortunately, Im a nut when it comes to aesthetics thus the reason for getting the A8 in the first place. Its one beautiful car.
