Default Cup Holder Solution

So I have concluded after only a couple days of ownership that the cup holder is not good. I did get a new MMI unit through the CPO process as the prior owner spilled liquid in the unit. I would like to avoid that.

I have done a few searches but did not see any solutions for a good cup holder. Would love to see what others have figured out.

Thanks!

Kris

Only way to prevent MMI spills is to keep your cups far away from it. I wonder if this one could be fitted in dash like A4's.

I have no solutions

Audi is definitely in need of a new "Cup Holder Engineer".
Every Audi I have owned (except the Fox and that didn't have cup holders)
has been pretty pathetic in that aspect.

At least I am not dealing with the flimsy in dash versions in my current cars, unlike My A6 and S4.
D3's are a bit better but still not too good..

With all of the engineering and design magic they do, its strange that they don't have a better solution.

Maybe they are trying to discourage drinking and driving :-)

My theory is that it's designed poorly so you have to buy tumblers from the Audi Collection.

That's the only way coffee gets near my D3, and water bottles are always covered.

I picked up my '08 S8 back in June. Clearly the cupholders are nearly worthless. I ended up ordering these. They work pretty well, and are unobtrusive. I ordered the longest size available, and it was too long so I would go 1 inch shorter.

Default What? an audi driver and no coffee? seriously?

I'd love the 'in dash' one that (i think) mishar mentions, the others would work too. The rears in my D3 are too shallow, the front's have been removed, presumably after the incident that made the MMI 'settings' button stick occasionally... I may try the in dash one, I mean, who really needs a 'business card holder' in the dash?? LOL All the holders in the long haired colonel's A6 work perfectly, in dash, pop up centre, and rears.

K9COP- Did you successfully use the A4 one? Did it fit in without modification?

Thanks.

A friend of mine has A4. I will try to figure out if that cup holder could be possibly fitted to A8 instead of that card holder (not very useful anyways).

Card holder? I use it as a change holder. Perfect for drive thru use.
