Door handle soft lock, went out
Hello all,
The 05 A8 has been flawless for the past year! Went to use my keyless lock on the outside drivers side handle and the button seems to have gone out. All other doors outer soft lock buttons work perfectly. Any ideas for a fix or where I could get the part from? Hopefully it isn't expensive to replace as I don't see it being easy to do.
It is the convenience open/close lock, the part that went out is the drivers side door handle's soft lock. (little button on the door handle) Used to lock the door when you have the keyless entry and lock.

Door Handle
The door handle comes complete with button handle lock etc..and it does need to be painted to match your car color. The handle is a pain to put in you have to completely disassemble the door. I replaced both my driver's and passeneger ones. If you are really mechanically inclined you can do it, but don't attempt it if your not. The handle costs about $140 from Audi Usa Parts. Thanks for the info. Not worth it to me, as I can lock it using the back door soft button, or just using the key fob. Terribly designed for replacement or work. (as usual for repairs on this)

Handle Cost
$132.00 + shipping to be exact $114.75 is for the passenger door handle not the driver's. Right side refers to driver's and left refers to passenger if you did not know.....since we are being so technical I might as well get the facts perfect...so as I orginally posted about $140 is correct.
