headlight bulb
hi,
Just bought a 2006 Audi A8 4.2. I am trying to replace one of the headlight bulbs. I think is it is a low beam one. I have attached a pic of what is sort of looks like. I have the grey plastic plate of the headlight unit and I can reach with my hand in there a bit (actually it is a tight space), question is which way do I turn it to get it out? Or do I just pull it? And the power steering reservoir is in the way , is it easy to get it out so that that I can have better access?

Welcome Arthur! Bit more of information needed. Where are you? Do you have HID lights? Which one exactly you are changing(there are 4 main bulbs)?
You posted H4 bulb picture. It may be on some European A8's, but I doubt that.

Are there D3 without HIDs for low beams? I bet you should have D2S bulbs. If they are D2S, you should do them in pairs. HIDs burn out over time and the color will be very different if you only do one.

Given the earlier bulb pic...
of a halogen type, I expect non U.S. If so, our D2S type knowledge won't help much.
Will soon be doing the D2S bulb swap to new ones myself; they aren't nearly as bright any more as the new Q5 that just got here form Euro delivery last week. I remember originally they similarly easily outpowered my HID 2000 A6.

That one is cornering light H7 bulb. No turning involved when replacing. You have to unhook springs holding it. You can get a bit of space by unscrewing driver side lamp (3 screws) and pull it for about 1/2" to the front.
