Probably you can, but that would make you DIY world visitor instead of "new to the DIY world". 
Unfortunately other things will come and it will pay back in no time. Other must thing for DIY is this one.

It is unlikely you could get the work done for less than that, even by an independent.
These are highly complex cars, and the tools Misha suggests are invaluable.
There is a wealth of information and resource here but information is not free.
You need to invest some time searching at the very least - we get repetitious questions here weekly.
