Default HELP!!! MMI Stuck in Bootloader Mode

Hi Guys
My child was in the passenger seat and pressed some buttons on my MMI which caused my MMI system to be stuck. This is the screen I see and I'm not sure how to fix it.

I did some research and from what I can understand I have to reload the original version CD's of MMI Software? I also saw EU and US versions, so I'm not sure what version number do I start with and where would I get those CD's? If someone knows more about these things please help.

Thanks!

According to what I have read, you need the latest update (2 cd set) I would buy all the update disks to go from version 1190 to the latest (4610). You will then have the 3360 update which should load without issue. Once you have recovered, then you can upgrade to 4610.

Here is an excerpt from a google search.

"What you have done is basically ask the MMI to reload from disk. So all you need is an update disk in the CD changer and it will reload. Do a search for MMI 5570 updates on google and download disk 1, burn it to a CD and put it in the 1st slot of the CD changer. When your MMI restarts it should read the disk and reload the MMI."

The core OS for the MMI is QNX, FWIW.

Good luck

Highly recommended to get the official disks from Audi. A single fault in a burned copy can brick your mmi. Also, burned copies are not, strictly speaking, legal.

Thanks guys for the help, it's starting to make sense - I think lol

Richard, since I don't know what version of MMI I'm currently on, will it hurt my MMI if I assume that I'm currently on a higher version than 3.3.60 and insert cd 4F0998961 to upgrade to 4.6.10? If it fails I can than start from scratch and look for the 4F0906961AB single CD?

I also found this info:
If your current software version is less than 3.3.60, FIRST perform update 4F0906961AB single CD procedure to completion bringing your MMI version to 3.3.60 using the supplied step by step instructions

AFTER upgrading to version 3.3.60 perform update 4F0998961 2CD procedure to completion bringing your MMI version to 4.6.10 using the instructions

If your current software version is at least 3.3.60 and below 4.6.10 DO NOT perform update 4F0906961AB single CD update - ONLY perform update 4F0998961 2CD procedure to completion bringing your MMI version to 4.6.10 using the instructions

If you had used the disks from your Audi dealer or other US supplier instead of the European download, you would have all the functionality you had before.

I would not call that working perfectly. Working - yes. Perfectly- no.

If it were mine I would get the USA Cd's and reload the MMI. The battery menu is generally added via the "Menu Maske" screen.
