Sport Suspension
I wonder what are differences between a normal and sport suspension struts. Are the sport ones shorter?
I really hate how much travel down have wheels when the car is lifted. That definitely hurts the sway bars bushings.

My assumptions...
I don't know from any side by side bench top comparison, but have assumed they are both shorter AND probably have higher rebound rates--the same kind of stuff you would find with steel spring rates on conventional suspension OE fitments. both the height AND spring rates varied on my prior C5 A6 with regular steel set up, even though the rest of it was almost identical to the D3 set up.
If you go anywhere w/ this, you might also want to look at the control module (the one we recode to VAG COM lower it). Not sure if the part # varies depending on which suspension we have, or if that matters if you try to cross fit.

0.3" if and
are to be believed.
Probably best to ask Arnott directly to be sure.
MP4.2+6.0 makes an excellent point on the controller.
Per SSP 292:
Hardware 4E0 907 553 C = Standard, 4E0 907 553 D = Sporty running gear
Software 4E0 910 553 C = Standard, 4E0 910 553 D = Sporty running gear
Those have likely been superseded in HW and SVM.
Guessing you might also need to recode module 09...

0.3" is not nearly enough shorter. I am thinking about something like 1.5" shorter (yet to be determined) that would keep wheels closer to the fenders when lifted.
Module wise, I would rather try regular module on a sport suspension car. It is more flexible height wise. Shock absorbers can be stiff more than needed. In a limp mode they get totally unpleasant. Air springs get harder with less air in them, so lower she is harder they get.
Wheels are not going all the way down when R18 is lifted.
