Default Keyless timeout and Webasto

Hi,

Happy christmas

Does keyless have any timeout function?
I mean, I haven' t measured any timeout, but looks like after around 24h or so "soft" keyless isn't working.

If I put the hand behind doorhandle, there' s no instant unlock.
I have to pull first doorhandle, then it unlocks.
It seems to happen when car haven' t been used 1-2 day, for less time, it works just fine.

Is this normal?

One more thing with keyless.
Is there any option to disable that "ding-dong" after engine have been stopped, when instument cluster reminds for lock the steering.

I have readed that T70 and T90 remote both works fine with the original webasto.
So, I bought from ebay new T90 remote, but looks like it' s for the VW, with code 7E0963511B.
I tried to adapt it with VCDS and no luck, I got "not recognized" message.
Original remote works just fine, even when I try to adapt it, it will do it again.

thnaks,

About the keyless timeout, check that your battery is fully charged. The car starts dropping convinience functions, if the battery goes below 20percent. Check the batterymeter, or enable it first if you don't have it under car-systems in the mmi.

My car drops the webasto, soft-close doors, and trunk opening if the battery is not charged fully. I've not got the keyless, but my friend has, i can ask him if it does that with a empty battery.

I've got the t90 remote to my preheater from the factory, partnumber 4F0909607.

I think it's exactly the same as to normal aftermarket webastos, except the audi, or in your case VW logo.

You should go to the parking heater control module nr18, and under adaptation channel4 numerically add 2048 to the existing numbers. So if there's eg.1024, then you will have 3072 as result.

Default +1; weak car battery

The power management system starts dropping things, keyless being among the first. Actually, the cuts start happening at 50% down, well before any sign of a slow starter motor for example. MMI powering down and wanting to close the screen with it still on w/ engine not running is another example.

For OP, if you are seeing this regularly without leaving things on (and w/ the winter months), I would change the car battery before you get stranded.

That happens to me if I am too fast. To my wife regularly.

I forgot to mention before, that I have brand new 110A battery and coded.

I have 2003y car, so MMI firmware was very old and all the time I got 10-40% battery.
I updated it to 5570 and now I can see 80-100%.

With the keyless "timeout" I got the the power trunk problem too.
I tried to change another battery, but still got the same "problem."

Is there any option for battery management software update?

If I have some power leaks, why webasto works fine, even with -25C* and 30min, after car have not been used for a weekend?
Never have been problem with starting engine or anything like that.

About that remote coding.
Control module nr18, channel 4 I have 1, if I wan' t adapat new remote I have to change it to 2.
With original remote it works, not with T90 what I got.
I have to check what that 2048 means.

thanks,

Sorry for late replay, but sadly no.

I founded voltage draw somewhere in A/C, I think that' s why battery management turns keyless off.

This is weird. I am not sure how correct is the battery display into the dash with 100% charged with the real battery life remains. One thing is for sure, when i replaced the rear brake pads i almost run out battery because i didn't connect any charger to the battery like the procedure says on the book. I felt it when i first start the engine. The MMI showed 60% on battery after first engine start.

I have also went for a VAS test with Audi dealer and they were able to test every antenna. The test pass OK and they suggest to replace the kessy module and steering column module. Cost of about 1000 euro plus whatever time takes to stay online with factory for a new identity car. This drives me crazy. I would replace these two modules right away if they guarantee will work after this job. But i don't want to replace something and then, oh. sorry was not this, was the battery actually.

I even removed the truck antenna to test it and was fine but still the diagnose test sees it like Open Circuit which is weird.

Why all antennas have error, delete the errors, keyless works fine on all doors and then after first engine start and drive about 1-2 minutes errors are back and kessy become dead?

If the modules were burnt then no service at all.

Price for door handles where the antenna is for each door: 100 euro.
Price for trunk antenna: 18 euro.
Price for rear bumper antenna: 25 euro. There are 2 antennas in rear bumper.
There are also 2 more antennas in the cockpit: one under the gear **** and one in the rear armrest. The last one has to be replaced together with armrest according to ETKA.

Somewhere there is a conflict i presume.

I will keep dig it and keep you posted.
