so I’m starting project lambo loud. Step one cut open mufflers to strip the fuzzy guys out. I found where all the loud horses go to die. That’s a lot of fiberglass.

Now the question is if I need to cutout any of the internal piping yet to get the sound Im after. I imagine it will sound a bit different just with the batting removed. We shall see

yeah, I’m as interested in it as well. I’ve heard recordings of S8s with muffler deletes. And I liked that. My goal for the mufflers was to retain the factory hanger and tips, so I figure at worst case I’ll cutout all the internals and repipe it so the inlet goes direct to the outlets straight piped and be done. But before I hack it up, I’ll play with the internals and see what the different parts do for the sound.

So far, the only mod I’ve made to the mufflers is to pull out the fiberglass. Didn’t really make a difference at all. Next step is to cut out some of the internal piping and see what happens
