Default New to me 2007 S8

Well, very regretfully had to sell my manual swapped D2 S8. I loved that car - it would eat up long stretches of highway effortlessly and comfortably and the 6-speed really brought it to life on winding roads needing more driver involvement. I figured one way to ease my pain (though perhaps not in my wallet!) was to move up to the next gen with the V10. Found a well equipped 2007 with low miles and in great condition, except for a couple of items that I know will need addressing. Boy, what a difference! While I will certainly miss rowing gears, the D3 feels so much more advanced and refined, really much more of a step up than I expected. And that engine...!

Been reading up through this forum and the other and as I get a feel for the car I figured I'd ask a couple of quick questions before starting separate threads:
  1. The car had a few codes when I first scanned it. I know the PO did not replace the manifold and I saw the 008196 & 008197 manifold flap faults, but cleared the codes and mysteriously they have not come back. I'll need to address this regardless, but will I get a check engine light or should I just continue to scan occasionally?
  2. So far it's running smoothly with no hesitation (knock on wood) but I'll likely need a carbon cleaning at some point so will address that with the manifold replacement. I'm a fairly competent DIY'er but this is a little more than I want to get myself into. A stealer job or an indy? Tough to figure out who knows more about this issue and the cleaning process, especially on the V10.
  3. I've got a solenoid valve fault so I know I have at least one bad motor mount. Is this job as straightforward as it looks or is there something that might cause it to be a little more involved?
  4. The throttle is sooo touchy, especially in sport. Might just need to get used to gentler inputs but I'm wondering if it's worth readapting for my driving style?
  5. Was going to wait and see how I like the OEM exhaust, but I'm already disappointed in the sound and need to make a change. I want something with a nice growl but not too loud and am leaning toward the Milltek resonated cat-back. Best source?
I'm in the Boston area and have a used a number of indys around here for various things, but if anyone knows of a good shop with V10 experience, please let me know.

Thanks all, looking forward to being a part of this community!

How many miles? Maybe flaps are not broken yet, but just coked in carbon and get stuck occasionally.
Yeah, throttle is very touchy, you just gotta get used to it

I think Milltek stopped making exhaust system for our V10 cars.

Guess I’ll just keep monitoring it. Have a feeling the time will come sooner or later...
