Platinum / extended warranty - worth it?

Platinum / extended warranty - worth it?
Did most everyone here get the extended / platinum warranty for the A8? I think I will be keeping the car for awhile as we do love it but hate maintainence required. Nothing else is like it - hard to drive anything else.
Cost is about $3,000 but does not cover timing belt (which sucks).
Just wanted some opinions on it.
Thanks!

Re: Platinum / extended warranty - worth it?
Yes, I did and it has paid for itself with the thermostat, suspension TSB, MMI module replacement, Trans flush, and a few other little issues. My plan covers the Timing Belt if it fails before 75K and will replace engine due to it. The timing belt is a "audi required" preventive service at 75K or 7 years, that is why it is not covered by any ext. warranty policy that I know of. If you go out of the service parameter and it goes, the warrany company will not cover repair to your engine--expensive gamble.

I bought it from Terry at Roger Burdick $3400 for 6yrs/72K. SHould pay for itself really soon.
As soon as I got the warranty, the parking brake light malfunctioned and the MMI **** stopped working. Typical audi.
Thanks again!
