Power sunroof\windows question
Hello, there!
My old Audi V8 1991 is capable operating sunroof and power windows when the engine is off. Audi V8 will stop operating the power sunroof and power windows only if any of the doors have been opened (you can close the door again but it will resume operating only if you switch the key On and Off).
I noticed my A8 2007 does not do that at all
I had to wait my wife in the car for 10min or so, and it was quite nice day in Toronto. I've tried to open the sunroof and no success!!! Then I've started to test the operating and noticed a lot of "inconvenience". I'm sure it can be configured. So, questions:
1. How to enable ability to operate power sunroof\windows when the engine is shut off
2. How to enable the option to close all opened windows and sunroof
3. How to enable the option to open all windows (and maybe sunroof) from the remote key
4. And finally. In Europe I’ve seen A8 activated shutting windows and doors based on the rain sensor!!! Is it an option only for Europe and not NA??? Can it be configured as well?

1- My D3 only lets you operate windows until you open a door, or turn key to run.
If I get out and forget to close something, I get in and press start button and it will let me close them.
2- Convenience open is in MMI under Car-> Systems-> Windows as I recall.
Works by holding down the driver window button.
Don't recall ever being able to close them though, may not be possible.

The sunroof won't open/close unless your MMI shows that option under Windows -> Convenience Open based on the MMI version.
4- Now that would be very cool. Hopefully someone can tell us how to make that work

Thanks mishar - I forgot all about closing them with remote.
Guess I should use it more instead of just keeping it in my pocket.

Not sure if you really would want to open the sunroof with the remote. 1. generally the car would be sitting and under direct sunlight, therefore the sunroof would be useless sitting there in the sun; actually warming up the car. Just thought I'd add my opinion as to why I wouldn't want the sunroof to open in addition to it. I would want it to open if I could open it separately

And how do you open\close from remote?
Do you just push OPEN button and it opens the windows? Same tith Close? What if you just want to lock the car and leave the windows\roof opened? And later on you want to close it? How do you do that?
