Nothing to do with cost...It's simple knowledge of preventing frivilous lawsuits...
Sure it would be very inexpensive to equip all cars with summer performance tires. But then when some crackhead owner decided to try and drive their car in winter precip, crashes the vehicle and sues AoA for equipping the car with tires that are not suitable for those conditions. You're trying to preach to the preacher here and it's simply not gonna go through. This has absolutely nothing to do with PR, solely the fact that 95% of Americans are ignorant, greedy atavistic mulletfvcks.

Porsche had this problem when the Cayenne was introduced...
95% came with summer tires and buyers tried to use them in the winter. Lawsuits were filed and the outcomes hidden from public record. Because of the lies in the 80's, Audi can't afford to have an unwanted investigation/suit to deal with.

Entirely true. And no one will care if a few of us crazies rant about it, moreover we won't
cost Audi a penny by complaining.
The alternative is more risk and uncertainty re exposure to an unwanted and unnecessary expense (litigation/settlements).
