Recall 26J2 Catalyst replacement
Hi all,
I received a recall notice from Audi North America a few weeks ago, for my 2008 A8L. Apparently after several years of use, some catalysts were not meeting performance specs and Audi were
replacing them free of Charge. I certainly couldn't turn down the chance of a brand new CAT, and dropped it off to Audi Oakland the following week. This is not a small job, apparently they had to drop the engine to replace both CAT's. ( I thought there was only one) Either way, 10 days later, I got the car back. with 2 x new CATS. Has anyone else received the same recall notice?
Best Regards,
Michael.

I had that recall completed last week. Audi replaced both intake manifolds at their expense. The labor time was 11 hrs. They broke my oil dipstick when attempting to remove (it was reportedly frozen in the block) but they were able to add it to the job under the recall at N\C. The dealer had the car for 2 full days with a freebie 2018 Q7 loaner. Not bad.

Do you mean exhaust manifolds?

Not technically a "recall" but a "Service Campaign"
I received the letter as well, and tomorrow marks the third day the dealer has had my car. For a loaner, I only got a 2017 Q5 2.0T, so apparently RichardTX spends more money at the dealer than I do. The Q5 is OK, but it's no D3 and I don't care much for SUVs.
The AudiUSA website describes the campaign as:
START DATE: Dec 28, 2017
AUDI ACTION CODE: 26J2
DESCRIPTION: Over time and mileage and under certain conditions, the factory-installed catalysts may not perform as required by Federal regulations. If the effectiveness of a catalyst is reduced, this may result in an increase in tailpipe emissions and the vehicle could fail to pass an emissions inspection.
REMEDY: To ensure that the vehicle continues to meet emissions regulatory requirements, your authorized Audi dealer will install improved catalysts. This work will take up to two days to complete and will be performed for you free of charge. Please keep in mind that your dealer may need additional time for the preparation of the repair, as well as to accommodate their daily workshop schedule.

It's for all 2008-2011 4.2L FSI A8's. So yes, Basenco; yours is covered.
