Default RPMs bouncing | Fuel too lean | Battery not charging

Apologies in advance for the long text.

Hi guys, several problems which I think stem from the battery regulator.

I've incorrectly jumped the car several times a few weeks ago when the battery died. I jumped it using the spare battery and connected the the negative clamp to the negative terminal and not the metal ground rod. I think I've shagged the battery regulator. I then left the car sitting for a few days until I was able to buff and polish the new headlight I had received before installing it into the car.

Monday morning I tried to go to school, but the battery had died. Switched out the batteries and that's when the problem began.

The electronics went haywire for a second and the rear passenger side speaker started constantly emitting a tone and popping. The car finally turned over with the new battery and it was misfiring and the RPMs bounced between 600 and 1200 RPMs. Cylinders 2 and 5 were misfiring and I limped over to my indy mechanic. He kept it a day and fixed the issues. Cylinders 1-5 had the electric coils popped out. For some reason the rubber had warped and popped the coils out of the sparks.

The misfiring has been fixed but the RPMs will continue to bounce. The mechanic told me he would clean out the throttle body and relearn the throttle.

He couldn't clean out the throttle body because he didn't want to start tearing the car down just to get to it. So he did a relearn on it. It seemed fine at first but still had the same issues when I drove it back home. The RPMs would bounce between 600 and 1200; the car would keep the RPMs at 1200 when downshifting and slowing down... effectively preventing me from slowing down properly so I had to constantly put it in neutral to slow down.

In neutral the car seems fine. It's when it's in gear that the erratic behaviour shows. I made a sharp right turn and it stalled in the middle of the turn. If I keep it in manual mode, it's not so bad. If I let the car decide which gear to be in, it will bog down as it tries to keep it coasting in 6th gear.

When I came home the RPM bounces became a bit more erratic and violent so I coasted into the driveway in neutral. When I was slowing down nearing my garage door, the car decided to rev to 2100 RPM and hold it there. I thought maybe the throttle got stuck on the weather mat. Pressed it and pulled and it jumped to 2400 and looked like it was gonna rise. I quickly turned the car off in neutral and put it into park.

Battery has been at 1 bar the entire time. Did not increase, did not decrease. When it stalled I got the Battery Energy Management display on the dash which is normal at low battery levels.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance, guys,

EDIT

Soldered the fragile red wire connected to the positive terminal. Switched out batteries. Still reads battery level at 1 bar.

Both batteries were measured at 12.90V and 12.95V respectively.

Clear all failures. The battery level should come up after a few miles driving. The PMS should take care of everything.
If the idle is good, acceleration is bad, only a few things I can think of are: throttle body, MAF and speed sensor, but if it was good before, then some electrical modules are walking wounded.
Cheers,
Louis

I'l try it, but I definitely think the power management module needs to be replaced. Fingers crossed that's not the case.
