temporary paint protection solutions?
Hi all, Just wondering, I've seen audi delivering cars with what appears to be white protective films on the bonnet, doors, roof etc to prevent rock chips or scratches during the delivery transition.
in conjunction with the clear bra already on the A8, i was thinking of putting this on for added protection during road chips. Any idea where i can get it?

With as much as A8's depreciate
you may as well just drive it and enjoy it. It's not going to last forever or stay chip free.
*However*, if you're still really worried about it, you could try a spray on bra available from griot's garage:

or
Just put two good coats of Rejex on it, and drive it like it should be.

I had the 3M Clear Bra on my S4
the key is finding someone VERY capable to install it. The shop who installed mine did a pretty crappy job, and I was never really satisfied.
I haven't decided if I'm going to do the A8 yet or not...

A8 has it already, im just looking for extra protection during road trips
my picture profile has some pics of the clear bra, which you cant really see. And yes my installer doesnt seem to get some places right at all....been back in the shop like 3 times trying to get it right, one more visit coming soon. At least they stick with the warranty and not back out.

Is the prevention worse than the disease? The audi isn't going to rust, so why save the nice paint for the next owner?

Re: I had the 3M Clear Bra on my S4
I had problems with the installation of 3M paint protection film on my A4. I got a hold of the 3M rep who replaced it. I was informed the guy who did it was NOT authorized to install 3M films, even though he advertised it. That was 7 years ago. It still looks pretty good today.
*Disclaimer - I do work for 3M, but in no way related to sales or paint production films.
