AMI retrofit was a piece of cake, and BT was standard as of 2nd half MY 2005. That said, I bought a 2007 to get the timing chain FSI motor, and avoid the costly maintenance repair.

I thought the name sounded familiar, I was on the MBWorld a few years when I had my W211 E500!
I would definitely say the 07+ is the way to go, the engine does not have a timing belt which is a high ticket maintenance procedure.
Mine came with AMI (iPod/USB interface) and BlueTooth integrated, which I believe are a bit harder to do on older models.
Plus I am a fan of the new-style nose.
Welcome to Audiworld, definitely not the amount of traffic I was used to on the MB forum, but most folks are happy to lend a hand.

Yes I am on mbworld with sever a thousand posts and several retrofits. My latest was a cdi engine conversion on a w111 wagon with histrionic,parktronic, keyless go, trunk closer, dynamic seats, stationary heater, heated rear seats and steering. Retrofitting is no problem for me. Just need to familiarize myself with Audi.
